a mommy's thoughts

sitting. snuggling. cuddling. all snuggled up together with you sleeping on my chest. can these moments please last forever? looking at "old" pictures, feeling like they were snapped just yesterday but realizing that they are now perfect memories. perfect little milestones in your perfect little life - it absolutely confounds me. how is it my sweet baby is growing so quickly? how are these moments going by this fast? is it possible that this is my reality? I am afraid the moments when you want to sleep on my chest snuggled up close to my face are growing fewer every day. watching you grow and develop has been the greatest blessing I could have ever imagined. Heavenly Father has blessed me more than I could ever express gratitude! this next year is going to have a lot of changes little buddy and I couldn't be more excited but at the same time I must admit that I am a bit nervous! I hope you will always know with a surety the love that your mommy and daddy have for you! but more importantly I pray that you will always know of the love that your Heavenly Father has for you! you are so blessed to have a father in heaven who loves you so much and wants nothing but the best for you! I know that through life you will go through many trials but I also know with the love of your parents and your Heavenly Father, you will be able to over come each trial given to you. I know that without a doubt you will grow to do amazing things and you will grow into an amazing young man! I love you little buddy! I know that right now you probably think I am just your crazy mommy who dances and sings maybe a bit too much- but it is because I love you!!! you and your daddy are the greatest joys and blessings in my life and I know that I don't even know the half of it! one day you will be a big brother- and even though you are still so little I know that you will have more love than imaginable for your little siblings and that makes mommy so proud! thank you for being my perfect little angel! thank you for your little hugs and kisses! I will cherish these little snuggle naps as long as I possibly can!! sweet dreams my little prince charming dream big for great things await you!!! xoxox mommy

They are already the best of buds!!! he thinks her pretend glasses are very entertaining..... yes my child is a ham!!!

thanksgiving 2013

Where does the time go? I couldn't help but to laugh when I realized that this was our little Keller last thanksgiving...

and then this is him now..........

yes he is playing hockey.. with a basketball... total daddy's boy!
It is absolutely amazing to me how much can change in such a short amount of time!! It is unreal to think of all that has happened in one short year and all that is yet to come! It is simply crazy!!!!
Well, this year our Thanksgiving was fairly mellow... and I loved it!!! We had "thanksgiving dinner" two weeks earlier with Kurt's parents and his siblings and then on thanksgiving day we cooked, cleaned, ate, relaxed, and then partied! :)haha Thanksgiving day we stayed at our house for dinner and did our very own thanksgiving dinner... laugh if you want but it was actually a blast!!! We loved being able to spend that time together- watch the parade- and of course.. play!! Well after we let our food settle- we got ready for the day and headed up to bountiful to visit my side of the family! and of course you will have to forgive me because I am terrible at taking pictures when there is so much going on.. haha call me crazy!
but here are a few that I did get...

Every year my incredible grandma makes a gingerbread house for each family to decorate.. and by a ton I mean a ton!! We happen to have an extremely large family!!!
Here are some pics of this years ginger bread house... guess who picked the wording... yes Kurt was very proud!
okay so this says... "hockey family" I know I know I did it too big so it wouldn't all fit! whoops!!
and for the back.....

We loved visiting and spending time with family! On our way home we had planned to stop at the outlets and check out the deals but driving around the parking lot looking for a spot to park... we opted for something better.....
We headed home- got all cozy! and watched Christmas movies!!! What better way to end a day of thanks than snuggled up with your very favorite little snuggle buddies!!
do you love kellers new "cheese" face?!?!? hahaha oh great!
my two favorites chattering away!! We love that Keller's new thing is to tell us stories .. even though we don't understand 90% of what he says!! That little bug already has the cutest little imagination! I love him!!!

yes every picture now has this "adorable"??? little cheesy grin!

Oh and these are from a few weeks ago... on Tuesdays when I watch the girls we like to think of fun "girl crafts" (in addie's words) soo.. we made some thanksgiving turkeys!

Forever Thankful

"A grateful heart … comes through expressing gratitude to our Heavenly Father for His blessings and to those around us for all that they bring into our lives."-President Thomas S. Monson
I have so much to be thankful for- I don't even know where to begin. There are so many things that I could sit here and talk about today but in reality it is all so simple.
I am thankful.
I am thankful for family.
I have been truly blessed to have an incredible husband! You know when you are little and you dream of what life will be like when you grow up- and your future husband and kids? Well I will be 100% honest and tell you that my reality is drastically different than my childhood dreams- It is so much more and so much better than I could have ever dreamed of! I am blessed with a husband who loves me, who loves our sweet baby boy, and who loves his heavenly father. I know that it is because of his love for our father in heaven and for us that we have been so blessed! I am blessed with a husband who sacrifices all of his free time to work and go to school so that we can have all that we do. I am blessed with a husband who is smart, funny, amazingly talented, and lets be honest- SUPER HANDSOME!!!
I am thankful for my incredible Keller Bug and all the happiness he brings into our lives on a daily basis! The joy that fills my heart is each day as I watch him and listen to him is absolutely unreal. The gift of motherhood is one of the greatest blessings I could have ever imagined. I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to learn and grow each and everyday with Keller and that as a family we can make daily strides to better ourselves and to be examples to all of those around us. I am so blessed to have a family who I love spending time with! I cherish every second with them as we laugh, talk, and play together! Life is such an incredible blessing with these two boys and I know that we have so much learning to do but I know that together- we will have so much fun doing it!
I am so very thankful for this gospel and the blessings it has brought into my life. I am thankful for all of our incredible family and friends.
I could honestly go on and on forever- but I wont as I am afraid there are too many things I would leave out! I want to simply express all of the gratitude in my heart for all that I have I know that I have been so blessed and I know that it is all because of the wonderful individuals I have surrounded myself with in my life! Thank you each so much for all that you do for my family and I! If I could hug each of you I would! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Halloween 2013!!

"Tonight the Great Pumpkin will rise out of the pumpkin patch. He flies through the air and brings toys to all the children of the world."- Linus (It's the great Pumpkin Charlie Brown)

Okay lets be honest... you know you love Halloween just as much as your kiddos do... or perhaps more?!??!? Or am I totally crazy?!? Well I will be honest- I love Halloween! I love the pumpkin carving, the welcoming of fall, the trick or treating, family parties, and more... but I absolutely love the costumes!!! haha not only do I love seeing what everyone else wears.. namely kiddos! but I love the excuse to dress up head to toe and be like a child for a day! I am in no way saying that I am simply looking for an excuse to act childish.. lets be honest that may or may not be true in some aspects... BUT I love the imagination and the "pretending" that goes in to Halloween!

This year our Halloween all began with this costume...
okay little bit of a disclaimer here.. so when I originally ordered this costume I was under the impression that the mane was going to be a bit bigger... and by a bit bigger, I mean it was supposed to look like this ... as you can tell it is not nearly the same size... it would be an understatement to say I was a little disappointed. BUT at least he still looks cute- right?!? :)
The group costume ideas surrounding an adorable little lion are endless!! I may even use some of them in the future with other kiddos! BUT for this year we decided on something a little different to meet Kurt's costume "restrictions" haha This year we decided to do the wizard of Oz!!! We ended up as The wicked witch, the flying monkey, and the cowardly lion!
I think we turned out alright...

here are some pics of our Halloween fun!

Work Fun!!!

That's all folks!

Birthday Shenanigans!

Sooo.... remember  Keller's first birthday- the big one year post?!? and remember how I had some cute pics to share??? Well.... better late than never right :)
Okay so... first and foremost you should know... this kid did not want his picture taken... and by that I mean- we literally had to go back a second time (with reinforcements... aka.. grandma and addie to help distract!) so after attempting the first "fun" photo shoot and giving up- we went back the next day to try again and after the first little breakdown we turned on Katy Perry's Roar and we got this boy to finally dance and smile!!
see what I mean by major breakdown??? hahaha not sure why he had a sudden fear of the studio rooms but he was all fun and games until we went to the back... luckily grandma showed up and we finally got some smiles!

so my little cake lover had absolutely no desire to eat his cake whatsoever.. I know!! Absolutely crazy!! so.... I helped him! haha He was a little confused as to why I smashed his hand into his cake! But once the initial shock was over he was more than happy to pick off all of the m&ms one by one and eat them!

So you know this song? ya well this kid loves it and knows every single little part by heart- so if you ever want to see him dance or sing- all you need is to turn it on and you instantly get this!

okay so the last portion of our fun little photo shoot had these adorable little pumpkins.. well hopefully camera shy lets us come back because keller thought they were the perfect balls to throw! I think we had to put them back in place at least 20 times! Can I be totally honest though and tell you that I LOVE IT!! I love that this little guy is such a little busy bee who is total boy! haha

what is cuter than a little baby bum?!?
Okay... so that is it for the official one year photo shoot!! now on to the birthday party!!! (oh and to make our day that much more exciting.... we had the photo shoot just hours before the birthday party! ahhhhh!!) In fact let me give you a little break down of our day....
First Keller and I took Kurt's truck in to the shop to check the alignment and realized that Kurt didn't have a house key with his truck keys... yup we totally locked ourselves out! ahhh!! so... we decided to go find some pumpkins while we waited for grandma to come save us!
After grandma came to let us in- we quickly cleaned up- and headed to get Keller's pictures done! and on our way home stopped for some balloons! Because lets be honest- you absolutely must have balloons at a party right! ;)
Then on to cleaning the house and decorating!!!

Okay seriously how cute is this kiddo!! He absolutely LOVED his pumpkins!!! He kept patting them and blowing them kisses! haha oh and oh course waving to "Yankee" the little dog that visits us on a daily basis!

Okay and now for the d├ęcor pictures- total confession- these pictures are terrible quality! I need to get a camera and quit taking pics with my phone! But its better than nothing right?!?!?
well to start things off... here was the invitation..

I am super sad that I didn't think to take a picture of Keller's adorable birthday banner! Just trust me when I say it was super cute!! You can kind of see it on the left hand side.. .see cute!

Lil' Monster Snack Bar!

this little kiddo was spoiled by so many family and friends! Thank you all.. ps yes I am totally aware this picture contains no actual people. I was terrible at taking pictures! Luckily we do have video! :)

Okay  I think I have officially caught up on all the birthday shenanigans!! :) That's a wrap!!!
