Our christmas adventures for 2013

What an amazing Christmas season it has been! So many memories, adventures, and just plain fun! I only wish I would have taken more pictures!!!

We had so much fun with family at each family party and gathering! And we all know that they go by way too quickly! As busy as the weeks surrounding Christmas seem to be at times, they always seem to fly by faster than possible. So I figured we better start documenting J

Well to start things off- Keller was soooo much fun this year! He loved every little decoration- and surprisingly he only “injured” one.. yup he sat on Santa’s lap… little did he know  that this little Santa only had little sticks for legs! Santa -0  Keller-1.  But that didn’t stop him at all- he continued to give his “baby” Santa and snowman kisses every morning and as often as he could! We lucked out with this little sweetheart I tell ya! He melts this mommy’s heart!

Oh.. and I mustn’t forget this beauty….

Yes the good ol’ chocolate advent  calendar! Every morning when he woke up, as we would get breakfast ready Keller would eagerly run to the counter and point to his calendar. This boy had to have his chocolate! Don’t judge.. yes it was breakfast time.. but it was only one little square per day J that makes it okay right??

We went to see the lights in temple square- Keller was a little confused as to why mom and dad insisted on bundling him up to hang out in the freezing cold for hours! I couldn’t help but to laugh at all his layers.. I may have over done it, seeing as how he couldn’t even bend his arms! Now I know how this little guy felt………..HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

you cant tell that well in this picture- but this little guys movement was EXTEREMLY limited!!

This little guy loves giving hugs and kisses! Little K smothering Reece in hugs and kisses in the visitors center!

playing on the toys in City Creek- Dad was a little hesitant to let him play- But we got him to give in and obviously Keller LOVED every second!!
All in all we had such a fun time with all of our family! And best of all after Christmas eve Kurt even got a week and a half off to spend with his little buddy! Keller loved having his daddy home every day!!! BUT before we get to those adventures we cant forget this one…..

Christmas morning!!!

Our Christmas morning started with a few hiccups… caution is advised J

Little K woke up crying at 5AM covered in diarrhea… ya told you it wasn’t pretty. Well after cleaning up my little angel I started getting sick- the smell set me off like you couldn’t believe! Trust me it was not pretty.  So basically we started our Christmas morning with a sick baby and sick mommy… well as we tried to calm Keller down we headed down stairs and that is when Keller saw everything tucked under the tree! His whimpering almost instantly stopped! He looked at the presents and then at mom and dad… as if to ask…. “umm… can I touch these ones?” We couldn’t help but to laugh at his excitement when we handed him his stocking and first present.

However- mom and dad didn’t really think through the present logic… maybe we should’ve saved this one for last?

Yes I don’t know who was more excited- Keller or Kurt! Kurt had been counting down for weeks to give Keller his first hockey set! And needless to say… Keller LOVED IT!! He loved it so much in fact, we had to hide it later in the day so that we could get his attention back to opening the other gifts!! Gift opening was an all-day event for us- but it was perfect and I wouldn’t have had it any other way!! (well I could have done without feeling like crud- BUT… it was still a perfect day non the less!)

Oh and lets not forget... we got to talk to Natalie!!! My amazing little sis who is serving in the Tampa Bay Florida mission!!!
Keller loved listening to everyone on the speaker phone! even though he looks super grumpy.. yes he was sick! He loved every minute!! As did Kurt and I!! We are so proud of you little natty lou!!

We were absolutely spoiled by everyone this year and are so very grateful!!! But most of all we are grateful for this little ham and all the excitement he brings into our family!! Little Keller bug mom and daddy sure love you and we love to spoil you!!! The way your sweet face has lit up our home this Christmas season has been the perfect reminder of what this season is really about! Thank you for helping your crazy parents every day! We love you more than you’ll ever know!!! Merry Christmas little buddy!!

making ginger bread houses with addie! This was a few weeks ago- but I figured it worked best with the Christmas post :)

a mommy's thoughts

12/13/13

sitting. snuggling. cuddling. all snuggled up together with you sleeping on my chest. can these moments please last forever? looking at "old" pictures, feeling like they were snapped just yesterday but realizing that they are now perfect memories. perfect little milestones in your perfect little life - it absolutely confounds me. how is it my sweet baby is growing so quickly? how are these moments going by this fast? is it possible that this is my reality? I am afraid the moments when you want to sleep on my chest snuggled up close to my face are growing fewer every day. watching you grow and develop has been the greatest blessing I could have ever imagined. Heavenly Father has blessed me more than I could ever express gratitude! this next year is going to have a lot of changes little buddy and I couldn't be more excited but at the same time I must admit that I am a bit nervous! I hope you will always know with a surety the love that your mommy and daddy have for you! but more importantly I pray that you will always know of the love that your Heavenly Father has for you! you are so blessed to have a father in heaven who loves you so much and wants nothing but the best for you! I know that through life you will go through many trials but I also know with the love of your parents and your Heavenly Father, you will be able to over come each trial given to you. I know that without a doubt you will grow to do amazing things and you will grow into an amazing young man! I love you little buddy! I know that right now you probably think I am just your crazy mommy who dances and sings maybe a bit too much- but it is because I love you!!! you and your daddy are the greatest joys and blessings in my life and I know that I don't even know the half of it! one day you will be a big brother- and even though you are still so little I know that you will have more love than imaginable for your little siblings and that makes mommy so proud! thank you for being my perfect little angel! thank you for your little hugs and kisses! I will cherish these little snuggle naps as long as I possibly can!! sweet dreams my little prince charming dream big for great things await you!!! xoxox mommy

thanksgiving 2013

Where does the time go? I couldn't help but to laugh when I realized that this was our little Keller last thanksgiving...

and then this is him now..........

yes he is playing hockey.. with a basketball... total daddy's boy!

It is absolutely amazing to me how much can change in such a short amount of time!! It is unreal to think of all that has happened in one short year and all that is yet to come! It is simply crazy!!!!
Well, this year our Thanksgiving was fairly mellow... and I loved it!!! We had "thanksgiving dinner" two weeks earlier with Kurt's parents and his siblings and then on thanksgiving day we cooked, cleaned, ate, relaxed, and then partied! :)haha Thanksgiving day we stayed at our house for dinner and did our very own thanksgiving dinner... laugh if you want but it was actually a blast!!! We loved being able to spend that time together- watch the parade- and of course.. play!! Well after we let our food settle- we got ready for the day and headed up to bountiful to visit my side of the family! and of course you will have to forgive me because I am terrible at taking pictures when there is so much going on.. haha call me crazy!
but here are a few that I did get...

Every year my incredible grandma makes a gingerbread house for each family to decorate.. and by a ton I mean a ton!! We happen to have an extremely large family!!!
Here are some pics of this years ginger bread house... guess who picked the wording... yes Kurt was very proud!
okay so this says... "hockey family" I know I know I did it too big so it wouldn't all fit! whoops!!
and for the back.....

We loved visiting and spending time with family! On our way home we had planned to stop at the outlets and check out the deals but driving around the parking lot looking for a spot to park... we opted for something better.....

We headed home- got all cozy! and watched Christmas movies!!! What better way to end a day of thanks than snuggled up with your very favorite little snuggle buddies!!
do you love kellers new "cheese" face?!?!? hahaha oh great!

my two favorites chattering away!! We love that Keller's new thing is to tell us stories .. even though we don't understand 90% of what he says!! That little bug already has the cutest little imagination! I love him!!!

yes every picture now has this "adorable"??? little cheesy grin!

CHEESE!!!!

Oh and these are from a few weeks ago... on Tuesdays when I watch the girls we like to think of fun "girl crafts" (in addie's words) soo.. we made some thanksgiving turkeys!

Forever Thankful

"A grateful heart … comes through expressing gratitude to our Heavenly Father for His blessings and to those around us for all that they bring into our lives."-President Thomas S. Monson

I have so much to be thankful for- I don't even know where to begin. There are so many things that I could sit here and talk about today but in reality it is all so simple.
I am thankful.
I am thankful for family.
I have been truly blessed to have an incredible husband! You know when you are little and you dream of what life will be like when you grow up- and your future husband and kids? Well I will be 100% honest and tell you that my reality is drastically different than my childhood dreams- It is so much more and so much better than I could have ever dreamed of! I am blessed with a husband who loves me, who loves our sweet baby boy, and who loves his heavenly father. I know that it is because of his love for our father in heaven and for us that we have been so blessed! I am blessed with a husband who sacrifices all of his free time to work and go to school so that we can have all that we do. I am blessed with a husband who is smart, funny, amazingly talented, and lets be honest- SUPER HANDSOME!!!
I am thankful for my incredible Keller Bug and all the happiness he brings into our lives on a daily basis! The joy that fills my heart is each day as I watch him and listen to him is absolutely unreal. The gift of motherhood is one of the greatest blessings I could have ever imagined. I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to learn and grow each and everyday with Keller and that as a family we can make daily strides to better ourselves and to be examples to all of those around us. I am so blessed to have a family who I love spending time with! I cherish every second with them as we laugh, talk, and play together! Life is such an incredible blessing with these two boys and I know that we have so much learning to do but I know that together- we will have so much fun doing it!
I am so very thankful for this gospel and the blessings it has brought into my life. I am thankful for all of our incredible family and friends.
I could honestly go on and on forever- but I wont as I am afraid there are too many things I would leave out! I want to simply express all of the gratitude in my heart for all that I have I know that I have been so blessed and I know that it is all because of the wonderful individuals I have surrounded myself with in my life! Thank you each so much for all that you do for my family and I! If I could hug each of you I would! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Halloween 2013!!

"Tonight the Great Pumpkin will rise out of the pumpkin patch. He flies through the air and brings toys to all the children of the world."- Linus (It's the great Pumpkin Charlie Brown)

Okay lets be honest... you know you love Halloween just as much as your kiddos do... or perhaps more?!??!? Or am I totally crazy?!? Well I will be honest- I love Halloween! I love the pumpkin carving, the welcoming of fall, the trick or treating, family parties, and more... but I absolutely love the costumes!!! haha not only do I love seeing what everyone else wears.. namely kiddos! but I love the excuse to dress up head to toe and be like a child for a day! I am in no way saying that I am simply looking for an excuse to act childish.. lets be honest that may or may not be true in some aspects... BUT I love the imagination and the "pretending" that goes in to Halloween!

This year our Halloween all began with this costume...
okay little bit of a disclaimer here.. so when I originally ordered this costume I was under the impression that the mane was going to be a bit bigger... and by a bit bigger, I mean it was supposed to look like this ... as you can tell it is not nearly the same size... it would be an understatement to say I was a little disappointed. BUT at least he still looks cute- right?!? :)

The group costume ideas surrounding an adorable little lion are endless!! I may even use some of them in the future with other kiddos! BUT for this year we decided on something a little different to meet Kurt's costume "restrictions" haha This year we decided to do the wizard of Oz!!! We ended up as The wicked witch, the flying monkey, and the cowardly lion!
I think we turned out alright...

here are some pics of our Halloween fun!

Work Fun!!!

That's all folks!
